César and Carolann De León, after 28 years of marriage, have experienced the delights and challenges of serving the Lord as a ministry marriage. Born in Guatemala City, Dr. César De León is an ordained SDA minister and a California licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). Dr. De León earned his B.A. in theology from Walla Walla College, an M.Div. degree from the Theological Seminary at Andrews University in 1985 and a Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy from Loma Linda University in 1993. In 2002, Dr. De León received a clinical Ph.D. in Marriage & Family Therapy from the School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary. Dr. De León is currently the Ministerial and Evangelism Director for Central California Conference.
The De León’s have two adult sons, Zachary, 20 and Jonathan, 18. Carolann De León practiced as a critical care registered nurse for 14 years before pursuing a Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy from Loma Linda University. She was near completing her Ph.D. from the school of psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary, also in Marriage & Family Therapy, when she decided to accept a “higher call” to dedicate herself to being fully present for the raising and education of her two sons, a decision she has never regretted. She is currently completing a Ph.D. in Clinical Pastoral Counseling.
